Biografía Biography
Yessica Hurtado Martínez nace en Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, México, en 1989.
Estudia una Ingeniería en Tecnología en Medios Audiovisuales en la THD Deggendorf, Alemania. Después de su carrera, se dedica a varios sectores en el mundo audiovisual como locutora, editora, videógrafa y diseñadora gráfica.
Además de sus trabajos en áreas corporativas, produce y dirige varios retratos y videoclips de artis-tas en México, Alemania y Hawái. Dirige su primer corto Documental Acti8Electro Jazz y un retrato documental del Artesano Lon Klein The passion of building surfboards en 2015 en Hawái. Entre el 2017 y el 2019 realiza videoclips musicales con rasgos documentalistas tanto con el artista del son Jarocho mexicano Yehosua Pérez como con el Sitarista Leonardo Prakash.
Encantada por el poder de las entrevistas y el retrato de imágenes espontáneas, Yessica estudia su Máster en Cine Documental en la ECIB en el 2020 y estrena su primer Ensayo Documental Serpiente en Occidente en el 2023. Una analogía intima sobre la depresión por desarraigo y el desarraigo de las plantas medicinales; como la Ayahuasca.

Yessica Hurtado Martínez was born in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Mexico, in 1989.
She studied Audiovisual Media Technology Engineering at THD Deggendorf, Germany. After her studies, she worked in various sectors in the audiovisual world as a speaker, editor, videographer and graphic designer. Besides her work in corporate areas, she produces and directs several portraits and music videos of artists in Mexico, Germany and Hawaii. She directs her first short Documentary Acti8Electro Jazz and a documentary portrait of Artisan Lon Klein The passion of building surfboards in 2015 in Hawaii.
Between 2017 and 2019 she makes music videos with documentary characteristics with both Mexican son Jarocho artist Yehosua Perez and Sitarist Leonardo Prakash.
Enchanted by the power of interviews and the portrayal of spontaneous images, Yessica studies her Masters in Documentary Filmmaking at ECIB in 2020 and premieres her first Documentary Essay Serpent in the West in 2023. An intimate analogy about the uprooting depression of people and the uprooting of medicinal plants; such as Ayahuasca.
