Sinopsis Synopsis
Binta, una niña senegalesa que llegó en cayuco a España, escribe su propia historia, que es la de miles de niños como ella. A través de su voz, poética e infantil, viajamos con sus familias a África y nos explica su nueva vida entre nosotros, llena de expectativas e ilusiones, pero también separación y nostalgia.
Binta, a Senegalese girl who arrived in Spain on a small boat, tells her own story—one shared by thousands of children like her. Through her poetic, childlike voice, we journey with her family to Africa, and she describes her new life amongst us, full of hopes and dreams, but also of separation and homesickness.

Juan Luis Rod (Huelva, 1987). Fotógrafo y videógrafo que lleva más de una década trabajando en diferentes países africanos y de latinoamérica. Le interesan temas como la migración, los derechos humanos, conflictos, el cambio climático. Es colaborador habitual del periódico EL PAÍS y otros medios como The Guardian, Aljazeera,etc.

Autor de los libros Cayucos (2006), Los Invisibles de Kolda (2009), El río que desafía al desierto (2019) y Travesías (2026).

Me llamo Binta es un documental que narra en primera persona con la voz de la propia Binta el largo viaje de 13 menores migrantes que llegaron a las Islas Canarias, sus historias personales y las de las familias que dejaron en sus países de origen.

My Name Is Binta is a documentary that recounts, in the first person and in Binta’s own words, the long journey of 13 migrant children who arrived in the Canary Islands, their personal stories and those of the families they left behind in their countries of origin.
